Dear Chesterfield Township Residents,   

I'm Brad Kersten, and I'm honored to be your Chesterfield Township Supervisor. 

For more than 30 years, I served in the Chesterfield Township Police Department. I started as a patrol officer and advanced to police chief in 2015 and public safety director in 2017. In June of 2021, the board unanimously appointed me Chesterfield Township Supervisor, and I was elected in early November of 2022. Since becoming Supervisor, I have looked to make many positive changes and improvements for the citizens, families, and small businesses of Chesterfield Township.  (Click here for a list of accomplishments)

My first job as Supervisor is to listen to all residents and address their questions and concerns. These improvements have been at the prompting and valuable feedback from the residents.

• Work with Parks and Recreation and Senior Departments to improve services, events, and facilities.
• Continue the Parks, Pathways, and Waterways Expansion within Chesterfield Township and connect with neighboring communities.
• Increased Township efficiency and communication through upgraded technology to be a Development Ready Community
• Implemented a new budget timeline and enhanced the following fiscal year (2023) budget planning, including a 5-year advanced budget plan.
• Technology improvements are planned within the Water and Sewer Department to quickly provide better information to understand their billing and usage issues.
• Focus on cleaning up areas around Chesterfield Township with high volumes of trash and blight, including that area along I-94 / 23 Mile Road interchanges.    

As Supervisor, I will continue working with our outstanding Township Board and staff to efficiently and effectively serve the Chesterfield Township residents and small businesses.
