Senior Services and Parks and Recreation

Immediately, I began working with the Parks and Recreation and Senior Departments to improve services and events for residents.  It is my plan to provide better facilities and a better environment for seniors and residents of all ages.

I plan to continue the parks, pathways, and waterways expansion planning throughout the township, along with incorporating the connectivity plan of the pathways with other communities.   

I will continue to provide the best Public Safety services for our community with Police, Fire, and 911 services.  We will enhance and build upon our partnerships with surrounding communities and stakeholders. 

I implemented a new budget timeline and enhanced the planning for the following fiscal year (2023) budget, which is set to include a 5 year advanced budget plan.   

Provide best practices and implement recognized "standards of operations" for our Department of Public Works, specifically the Water and Sewer division. Technology improvements are planned within our Water and Sewer Department with a focus on providing the residents with better information so that they can easily understand their billing and usage issues. 

I will make visual improvements to Chesterfield Township, by cleaning up the areas around the township that have high volumes of trash and blight. My first focus area will be along the I-94 / 23 Mile Road interchanges.  Working on our community's appearance, aesthetics, improving our signage, along with incorporating a branding plan for Chesterfield Township is crucial. Implementing these changes at significant interchanges within the township are all part of my plan.

I immediately recognized was the lack of technology within the township's daily operation, and the inefficiencies it created; including many employees who were performing redundant work. We have several departments that could not see or understand what other departments were doing!  To solve these inefficiencies we are expanding our use of technology within all departments by upgrading our BS&A platform and bringing in Bluebeam planning systems, which are the most up to date technology and will enhance our commitment to being a Development Ready Community.
